We've Won! Henley Festival wins 'Headline Performance of the Year' at UK Festival Awards
For the first time the UK Festival Awards has awarded Henley Festival with the 'Headline Performance of the Year' award for Elton John's spectacular show on the opening night of 2016's Festival. Stewart Collins, the Artistic Director was most pleased to accept the award on behalf of the rest of the Henley Festival team, at the Awards ceremony held at the Roundhouse last night.
Henley-on-Thames saw its riverside awaken with bright colour and sparkle as the Floating Stage invited thousands of glam spectators to an exclusive and unforgettable opening performance. Elton John and his band provided an outstanding party for the boutique festival goers revisiting his best work throughout the decades.
Not only was the Henley Festival's first win at the UK Festival Awards, but it was the first time to have been shortlisted not once, but twice, in the Best Hospitality category.
With the turn of the New Year fast approaching, Henley Festival 2017 looks to provide even more magnificent and magical nights on the Thames like Elton's, with next year's line up revealed in January!
