Christopher Townsend

Christopher is a sculptor working, mainly in mild Steel. He creates work for inside and out. Christopher graduated from Liverpool university with a first class honours in Fine art and psychology in 1996, since then, he has been creating sculpture from his studio near Burford in Oxfordshire (the old Forge, OX18 4HJ)

Christopher has exhibited his work at the affordable art fairs in Hong Kong, Singapore,New York and London.

In 2019, he was lucky to be selected to appear on the BBC1 television programme ‘Home is where the art is’ hosted by Nick Knowles.  Following on from this in October 2023 christopher donated a memorial tree sculpture to the treetops hospice in Derbyshire which was featured in the DIY Sos, big build for children in need also hosted by Nick Knowles.

Christopher’s work is inspired by many things in nature in particularly at the moment by the trees of the Great Wychwood forest, which surround his studio.

Christopher accepts commissions, but also is represented by several galleries throughout the UK. You can see his work at www.lovethetree.com

There’s so much to experience at the Festival it’s worth being ready to go when the gates open at 5pm.

Head to the Moet Champagne lawn for a glass of fizz and an amazing view of the river.

HUNGRY?

All our non-bookable restaurants are open throughout the evening and are less busy during the floating stage concert.

YOUR VISIT

WHAT SHALL I WEAR?

The Festival has a black tie dress code.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

The car park opens at 4pm, Festival gates open at 5pm.

DO I NEED A WRISTBAND?

Wristbands will be given out at the Festival gates upon presentation of a valid ticket.
