Len Gifford was born in 1945 in London. He studied civil engineering and from 1968 – 1980, he worked as a Chartered Structural Engineer, designing bridges and viaducts for London Transport and the Department of Environment.
Len took a great interest in sculpturing and enrolled at Leicester University to pursue his passion for sculpting.
After graduating with BA (Hons) in fine art, Len spent nearly twenty years part-timing as a commercial sculptor working in Chelsea modeling life-size figures in clay, while creating his own sculptures in his studio in Milton Keynes, the city he helped design in the 1970s. Since 2010 Len focuses on creating sculptures in his MK studio.
