The Multiverse

6:30 pm on Thursday 11th July 2024

RISE Emerging Talent Stage Presented by Westcoast

Oleksandr Balabanov aka The Multiverse, is a young Ukrainian artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist currently based in London. The 17-year old’s heart lives in Soul, R&B and Jazz, with the love of bonding these styles with his experiences and culture. Oleksandr has been doing music since very young, travelled the world, represented Ukraine at Junior Eurovision. And here in London, having moved after the beginning of the war in his home, is launching the new stage of his music project with “Am I Current Enough?” EP.

Being a lover of 70s arts culture, Oleksandr always grasped its liveliness and energy, fusing it with modern production and songcraft.

“Living in a rapid ever-moving society often makes me feel insecure about the ways I go about music. While making this EP I attempted to create a journey into a place of no time. Blending in the raw grooves, the beautiful harmony and the community feeling of old records with modern sonics and lyricism, I’m asking a question – “Am I Current Enough?” And answering it with a statement of expressing our human selves freely, without the constraints of society.”
