Catriona Wood

Catriona is a London based contemporary artist, inspired by nature. She studied an art and design foundation diploma in Falmouth, Cornwall, a graphic design degree in Edinburgh and Boston (USA) and since, has lived for short periods in France and Australia, so draws inspiration from all over. She frequently travels which has a strong influence on her work.

Along with her creativity, Catriona uses this inspiration to create imagined scenes which have a contemporary style, often exaggerating movement and colours. In her latest waterscape collections, although inspired by places meaningful to her, Catriona intends for the viewer to interpret her work in their own way, reminding them of a time or place personal to them. Catriona’s pieces are intended for modern homes and interiors.

Catriona’s studio is based in south-west London. She exhibits across galleries in Surrey and London in solo and group shows, where she sells her original acrylic paintings and limited edition prints. Catriona also takes commissions, most recently completing a painting for a client in Sydney. Her artwork is now in homes across England, Scotland, France, Spain, USA and Australia. All available work is on Catriona’s website and Instagram. Please get in touch with her via either of these platforms if you are interested in a studio visit to view her work in person.

Although Catriona studied art and design in her late teens and early twenties, keen to try an office-based job when she left university, she worked as a management consultant in London for 5 years. Unhappy in the city, feeling uninspired and unfulfilled at the end of each day, she quit corporate life to pursue her passion for painting full time in 2024.
