Bruna Garcia, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter, is steadily carving out her place in the Welsh music scene.
Born in Portugal and raised in Cardiff, Bruna grew up in a family with deep musical roots, which helped shape her soulful approach to music. From early performances in school and church choirs to backing vocals and touring with top Welsh acts, her journey has been deeply influenced with the soundscape of her community.
Her music blends the nostalgic R&B sounds of the early 2000s with a fresh, fiery energy, drawing on her rich Cape Verdean heritage and personal experiences.
Her debut single, ‘Temperature’, was featured on BBC Introducing Live 2023 (Wales) and has since received airplay on BBC Radio Wales by Aleighcia Scott, Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn. She has also graced the stage with her dynamic performance at festivals like Sŵn and Cardiff Music City, while appearing on ITV’s Backstage programme.
A recipient of Youth Music’s NextGen Fund, she has been named one of their Ones to Watch for 2025, and was selected for the PRS Foundation backed Forte Project, which develops the next generation of excellent talent in Wales. Bruna was also awarded the BBC Horizons Launchpad Fund for 2025, setting up quite a few promising years ahead!.
