KATYA

6:00 pm on Friday 12th July 2024

RISE Emerging Talent Stage Presented by Westcoast

Meet singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist KATYA, who stepped onto some of the main stages at 2023’s most popular UK festivals. KATYA is known for her refreshingly personal solo performances where she combines her soulful vocals and layered guitar with electronic beats, jazz overtones and atmospheric soundscapes, courtesy of numerous triggered effects. Her debut single, ‘I’ll Take Your Number’, – released on Glastonbury’s Acoustic Stage – garnered national and international radio support with spins on BBC Radio 1 and Deutschlandfunk Kultur (Germany). The track was included in The Independent’s ‘Now Hear This’ selection and on Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE playlist.

KATYA introduced her alter ego character ‘Kiki’, on Truck Festival’s Main Stage. She was born out of some self-produced comedy-infused clips in which she uses household objects to create beats and has now become a festival favourite!

KATYA’s true passion lies in the creation and live performance of her music where she communicates with her audience in an open and honest way. She reveals elements of herself through music and conversation that have the power to still and silence a sea of people then bring them to their feet dancing and singing her catchy, uplifting lyrics.

KATYA has a big year ahead with the imminent release of her EP and slots at various notable festivals this summer.
